PROJECT Overview
This bespoke hotel in the heart of Brighton, East Sussex, instructed us to supply and fit an air conditioning system for their rooms.
Project Challenges
The hotel is a listed building so we were limited in regard to what we could do and how we could install the facilities need to run the air conditioning units.
Upon initial survey it became apparent that there was limited outdoor space, so the position of the condensing units would be important. After consultation with the client it was agreed that we would install multisystems to limit the amount of condensers we would have to install.
With it being a hotel, and to preserve patrons peace and quiet, we had to supply and fit quiet indoor units, opting for a range by Panasonic that were not only whisper quiet when you are asleep, but also providing special NanoeX technology which has been proven to inhibit the growth and spreading of allergens, bacteria and viruses, an important consideration when there are many multiples of people frequenting the hotel throughout the year.
As it was a working hotel, and as the client did not want to shut down for a period of time and lose money, we had to install and commission units while the hotel was open which meant working at different times of the day, when access was available.
project benefits
Not only does the hotel have new, warranted and energy efficient air cooling and heating in each room, something they can charge a premium for on room rentals, the client can rest assured that their patrons will have a comfortable stay at their hotel which will only be beneficial for repeat custom for them.
Having fitted the units with WIFI controls, the client has the ability to turn off the air conditioning remotely, alleviating the fear that a patron of their may leave the a/c on when vacating the room, leading to increased costs for the client.
